This is a hypothetical list of actors that would make great zombie killing machines.
The list is in random order and is merely the opinion of us here at ZombiePlace.
Based on their overall acting roles and charisma, these are the 12 men that should definitely consider doing a zombie flick in the future!
1. Adrian Brody
I know Adrian Brody isn’t the first actor that springs to mind when you mention killing zombies, but there’s something about him that would make him great in a zombie apocalypse.
Although he is not famous for his action films, I could easily imagine him coping with the ongoing apocalypse!
Visual Aid: Predators (2010.)
2. Tom Hardy
Visual Aid: None needed
3. Mark Strong
This is one of my favorite actors in Hollywood right now and I had to put him on this list. I know it may seem like a stretch as he’s not exactly the action hero type but I can imagine him playing a realistic, calculated and vigilant hero trying to survive and protect the people around him.
Visual Aid: RocknRolla (2008.)
4. Kurt Russell
Never mind how old he is, admit it: you would still like to see Kurt Russell kicking zombie’s ass like he did the alien’s in the Thing (1982.)! And if you combine that with the Escape from… movies, you easily get a kick-ass post-apocalyptic movie with lots of blood, gore and Kurt Russell!
Visual Aid: None needed
5. Jason Statham
I believe this choice needs no extensive elaboration as he’s been kicking ass since he began his career. Zombies would be just a natural progression. Just imagine something in the line of Crank (2006.) with zombies! Awesome!
Visual Aid: Every movie this man has ever starred in!
A man with his particular set of skills needs no special introduction. He would be a perfect combination of a wise/calculated and an action-driven hero. I mean, he trained Batman and Obi Wan, for Christ’s sake!
Visual Aid: Taken (2008.)
7. Clive Owen
While discussing Clive Owen’s role in a zombie movie, you could approach it from two directions: the first being him a scared and lost man helping to save the human population as seen in the excellent 2006. thriller Children of Men or him being a confident and capable hit man from the mindless and fun movie Shoot’ Em Up (2007.). Either way works in my opinion!
Visual Aid: Shoot’ Em Up (2007.)
8. Bruce Willis
Another one that needs no particular explanation. The man is a legend and needs to be incorporated in a scenario with zombies as soon as possible (I’m not counting Planet Terror as he wasn’t really the hero there!). Yippee ki yay zombies!
Video Aid: Really?
9. Matt Damon
If you’re at all familiar with Matt Damon’s career, you’re familiar with the fact that this man can play almost anybody. So with that in mind and his performances in action movies (Bourne trilogy) you come to an easy conclusion that he is another legitimate candidate for the role. You can also see him coping with a viral outbreak in Contagion (2011.)
Visual Aid: The Bourne Trilogy
10. Mark Wahlberg
The main reason I would want to see Marky Mark killing zombies is his humor. I know he’s an action star first, but I just love his humor and can already see him dropping F-bombs while killing and tripping over zombies. I chuckled just imagining that!
Visual Aid: Shooter (2007.)
11. Viggo Mortensen
There are two reasons Viggo is here: a) He’s an excellent actor and b) The Road. Anyone who has seen that movie can agree that no one can portray the apocalypse as he did in that movie. Truly outstanding performance!
Actually you wouldn’t need another movie, just take that movie and edit in some zombies. Perfect!
Visual Aid: A History of Violence (2005.)
12. Tim Roth
I don’t know why but I just see Tim Roth in a zombie movie, it kind of fits in my head. I can’t explain it, so you’ll just have to deal with it. Maybe it’s because he’ s an excellent actor and could easily portray the anxiety and fear that comes with the zombie apocalypse!
Visual Aid: The Incredible Hulk (2008.)
