Looks like 2011. will be the year the zombies finally come out to play! Enough with the tall blue guys, little wizard kids or gay vampires, the guts are back in town! There are a lot of good movies coming our way next year!

Pride and Prejudice and Zombies – This one will definitely be an interesting one! An adaptation of 2009. novel by Seth Grahame-Smith. It is a combination of Jane Austen’s classic 1813. novel Pride and Prejudice with elements of modern zombie fiction. Natalie Portman will produce and star in this movie.

Zombieland 2 – A sequel to the very funny¬† 2009. zombie blockbuster starring Jesse Eisenberg and Woody Harrelson. Rumors are already circulating that legends like Harrison Ford and Sir Anthony Hopkins will appear in small, cameo rolls. I don’t know about you guys, but I’m eager to finally see Indiana Jones decapitated!

28 Months Later - … and we have a trilogy! This time, there is no escape! The virus has spread outside the UK. The cast is so far unknown, but rumors are already spreading that Danny Boyle is going to direct this one.

Cell – Based on a Stephen King Novel, this has the potential to become a good zombie movie. As the project is still in development, there is little information available.

The Riot – To survive the devastating riot outbreak in their city, four friends will fight to protect their lives and their home. And as the riots continue, they begin to realize that surviving is only the beginning. Ron Perlman is confirmed to star in this movie.

Those were the bigger ones. Among the other titles coming out in 2011., I should mention Evil Dead 4, I Walked With A Zombie, Rec: Genesis and Night of the Living Dead: Origins 3D.

Don’t worry, I’ve saved the best for last. Rumor is that Zack Snyder has been approached by Universal to make a sequel to his “Dawn of the Dead” (2004.). Note that this will be a sequel to his remake, not the original Romero’s “Dawn of the Dead”. Although no dates have been released, this is well worth the wait.
